The Shell Tellus hydraulic oil series is world-renowned and recognizable.
Key innovations and improvements
1. New formulations – Tellus S2 MX and Tellus S2 VX

These are updated versions of the well-known Tellus S2 series.

S2 MX is designed for stationary industrial hydraulic systems with high loads.

S2 VX is for mobile machines and environments with large temperature fluctuations.

The oils are fully compatible with older Tellus S2 and most mineral hydraulic oils – easy transition without the need to flush the system.

2. Longer life and higher resistance

In tests (TOST) Tellus S2 MX shows oil life of up to 5000 hours, which is about 3 times higher than the industry standard.

Group II base oils and improved additives are used for better oxidative and thermal stability.

Higher grades, such as Tellus S4 VE, offer up to four times longer service life than standard hydraulic oils.
3. Improved system efficiency and protection

Tellus S4 VE provides up to 6% higher hydraulic system performance and up to 21% less energy loss than standard mineral oil.

Better stick-slip behavior, faster air and water separation, and excellent filterability.

Increased load capacity and wear protection of pumps and components.

4. Expanded and clearer range

Today, the range is divided by performance levels:

S2 – standard mineral hydraulic oils for industry.

S3 – ashless hydraulic oils for longer service life and better protection.

S4 – synthetic hydraulic oils for heavy, mobile or extreme applications.

Example: S4 VE for high efficiency and energy savings, S4 VX for operation at very low temperatures.

High qulity Lubricants for High Results

Key Benefits

Less downtime and maintenance – longer oil life and fewer changes.

Better equipment protection – less wear and longer pump and valve life.

Energy savings – higher efficiency, especially in modern hydraulic systems.

Easy transition – compatible with old Tellus oils.

Suitable for modern hydraulics – designed for higher pressures, loads and temperatures.

Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence

Different industries require specific lubricants tailored to their machinery.

Different industries require specific lubricants tailored to their machinery:

  • Industrial – Heavy-duty hydraulic oils & gear oils.
  • Transport – Engine oils & transmission fluids for fleet management.
  • Agriculture – Greases & biodegradable lubricants for tractors.
  • Marine & Aviation – High-performance oils for extreme conditions.
